CCPA Compliance

Last updated January 15, 2025

Introduction

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides California residents with specific rights regarding their personal information.

Outvoice is committed to protecting your privacy. This page explains how we comply with CCPA requirements, though as a fully on-device application, Outvoice does not collect, process, or store any personal information.

No Data Collection

Outvoice is designed with privacy as a core principle. Unlike most applications, Outvoice:

- Does not collect any personal information

- Does not require user accounts or registration

- Does not sell any personal information (we have none to sell)

- Does not share any personal information with third parties

- Processes all audio files entirely on your device

Because we do not collect any personal information, there is no data for us to store, sell, or share. Your audio files and transcriptions remain exclusively on your Mac.

Your Rights Under CCPA

Under CCPA, California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information. Since Outvoice does not collect any personal information, these rights are automatically fulfilled:

Right to Know

You have the right to know what personal information we collect about you. Since Outvoice does not collect any personal information, there is no data to disclose.

Right to Delete

You have the right to request deletion of your personal information. Since Outvoice does not collect any personal information, this right is automatically satisfied.

Right to Opt-Out of Sale

You have the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information. Outvoice does not sell any personal information because we do not collect any.

Right to Non-Discrimination

You have the right to not be discriminated against for exercising your CCPA rights. Since Outvoice does not collect any personal information and is free to use, all users receive the same service.

Local Data Processing

All data processing in Outvoice happens locally on your Mac:

- Audio conversion uses native macOS audio frameworks

- Transcription runs on-device using WhisperKit and Apple Silicon

- No audio data is sent to any external servers

- No internet connection is required for core functionality

Your audio files never leave your device, ensuring complete privacy and CCPA compliance by design.

We Do Not Sell Personal Information

Outvoice does not sell personal information to third parties. In fact, we do not collect any personal information in the first place. Our business model is based on providing a free, privacy-respecting application, not on monetizing user data.
